First scientific publication AI4HEalthyAging

We are currently part of the AI4HealthyAging research project consortium. This initiative seeks the early detection of the most prevalent diseases among the adult population through Artificial Intelligence.

Today we can see how Artificial Intelligence is expanding in different sectors of our society and, of course, this tool is being integrated into the health sector too. In this area it can be of great use to support diagnosis and clinical decision-making through the use of deep learning models. At this point, the problem of using patient data to train these models arises.

To try to solve this difficulty, the AI4HealthyAging project applies a federated learning approach. This consists of the local use of patient data to train these models, sharing the results of these trainings between different actors without sharing the data used to carry them out.

As this is a fundamental pillar to be developed within the research work, we bring here one of the first scientific publications generated within the project. In it, the different strategies for aggregating the different local data to the global federated model are explored in depth.

It will be funded by the European Union through the Next Generation EU funds.

We are delighted to participate in this type of project so promising and so involved in improving people’s life.

We keep on working.
