Rehankle and the future of rehabilitation robotics – DIH-HERO H2020 Project

Today we would like to present the RehAnkle project, in which we participate together with the Neurorehabilitation Group of CSIC, the Portuguese company Caixa Mágica, and the National Hospital of Paraplegics of Toledo.

With this project, the partners intend to take a leap forward in the current landscape of the European robotic rehabilitation industry. To this end, we will promote the development of the current hardware, as well as its control system, create a new therapy management software and validate its use in patients. The objective is to achieve, at the end of the project, a device for ankle rehabilitation with a development level of 7 (TRL-7).

This project is sponsored under the DIH-HERO initiative which aims to create a European innovation ecosystem in the field of healthcare robotics. The University of Twente, Eurecat or Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, among many others, are among the institutions that make up the consortium of this project.

DIH-HERO receives funding from the Horizon 2020 program of the European Union under agreement No. 825003.
