Last week we attended the Summer School on Neuro Rehabilitation in its 2023 edition. For those who do not know, the SSNR brings together every year the leading experts in the field of neuroscience at international level. During the congress these scientists present the advances of their laboratories in areas such as neuromodulation through transcranial stimulation, human-machine interfaces through electromyography (surface, high density, etc.) or electroencephalography, the modeling of the musculoskeletal structure of the human body and the development of neuro-prostheses and orthoses (exoskeletons), among others, to the attending public.
There we coincided with our AI4Healthyaging consortium partners from Inntegra. Precisely we worked with them in work package 5 dedicated to the selection of biomarkers for the early detection of Parkinson’s disease. In this way we were able to jointly disseminate the work carried out within the AI4HealthyAging project. Specifically in the photo we discussed with researchers from the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab about the functions of each of the partners and how the inertial sensors will be used to measure gross motor skills in Parkinson’s patients. During the talk we were able to extend the conversation to the other work packages as well as to the issue of funding for this type of project in Spain.
In this project we will collaborate with Capgemini Spain, ITAINNOVA – Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón, Instituto Cajal CSIC (CSIC), Instituto Aragonés de Ciencias de la Salud (IACS) , Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Aragón – IIS Aragón, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya CIT UPC, UPC BarcelonaTech Technology Center, Universitat de València, Barcelona Supercomputing Center – Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS), Spanish Red Cross, Fundación Andaluza para la Investigación y Gestión del Conocimiento en Otorrinolaringología (FAIGESCO), Bitbrain, Podoactiva, Inntegra and Starlab.
The project is funded under the R&D Missions in Artificial Intelligence 2021 program of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and is part of the Digital Spain 2025 agenda and the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy. It will be funded by the European Union through the Next Generation EU funds and has a budget of 12.5 million euros.
We keep on working.
